NOTE: Notice that the A1C (E-3) kneeling on the right has the old A1C chevron with two stripes and a white star. The others have the then-new chevrons with dark blue stars. There were two (2) types of E-4 ranks. A Senior Airman (E-4) had three (3) stripes and a dark blue star, while a Sergeant (also E-4) had three (3) stripes, but with a white star.
